The Lexus LFA

     

The Lexus LFA is a supercar produced by a Japanese company named Lexus. The company took 10 years to design and create this beauty. I feel that the LFA is one of the company’s finest works. The car is known for its screaming engine and amazing performance on the track. I feel that this car is where perfection, simplicity and elegance are at its best. Only 500 models have been produced and each costs a stunning $400,000 making it one of the most expensive Japanese cars ever made.
  

Under the hood of this beast lies a front-mid 4.8Lt 72 degree V10 engine with dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Train with intelligence) — mated to a six - speed Automatic Sequential Gearbox (ASG) rear transaxle, with forged magnesium-alloy shift paddles — that sends a stunning 564 HP and 480 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The special feature of this gear system is that it can shift the gears really fast, in about 200 milliseconds!! With this much power, it can travel from 0-100 Kmph (0-60 MPH) in 3.6 seconds!! And has a top speed of 325 Kmph (202 MPH). Although the specs may not be greater than the other existing cars, what’s really special about the car is that it can reach it’s redline piston revolutions (0-9000 rpm) in 0.6 seconds!!! With high speeds come good breaking. The LFA has a one of the most advanced breaking systems in the world. It has a 6 piston caliper system in the front and a 4 piston caliper system in the rear. The disc is made out of 2 piece carbon ceramic material for ultimate strength. 

The body is mostly made of carbon fiber which makes the car light. The car is so sleek and aerodynamic that it has a drag coefficient of about 0.31. 
 
 
The feature that I find very unique and interesting is that the body is designed in such a way that the air is channeled to various parts of the car. For example, the air scoops located over the rear fenders feed air to the aft-mounted radiators and help cool the brakes, the horizontal hood gap also feeds air to the engine and the 2 small aft vents expel air that is collected by an underbody air scoop and used to cool the titanium exhaust pipes. The main intention of the design is downforce for more control. The spoiler rises up through a hydraulic system when the car is travelling at high speeds, therefore giving the car lots of downforce.
   

The interiors consist of 2 seats that are made up of quality leather. They are placed in such a way that the driver sits near the center of the car therefore giving the driver ultimate comfort and control. The wheel is made up of carbon fiber, leather and aluminum.
 The center part is a long aluminum block that contains many function and knob that lets the driver choose between normal, auto, wet or sport mode. The center screen is touch screen and has options to play music, use GPS navigation, etc. The interiors are comparatively simple from the rest of the cars which make the driver drive at ease. 
  
The screen behind the steering wheel is a thin film transistor LCD display that has a digital tachometer. This feature is not found in any other car. The reason for a digital tachometer is, since the car the car can reach 0-9000 rpms in 0.6 seconds, the analog tachometers will not be that accurate!!

One of the ways to attract the buyer is to give them an option to choose the color of the leather and metal that goes into the car, the color of the car, color of the calipers and the color of the rear view mirrors and the design of the rims, therefore giving the buyer a very personal approach.
   

The LFA has 2 versions, one is the regular coupe and the other is the Nürburgring edition. 
This car is specially made for the track. This car has 10 more horsepower than the regular, has better transmission and suspension since its track restricted.

The LFA is also called as the “The King of the Nurburgring”. It allowed the driver Akira Lida to complete one lap in just 7:14.64!!! For a car with specs like this, that is a very impressive time and much quicker than its competitors.

The Lykan Hypersport is a limited edition car produced by a Middle Eastern company named W Motors. It is the FIRST supercar to be produced in the Middle East. I feel this car is where technology, design, and power have come together perfectly. The sleekness and the sharp body lines makes it look aggressive and different from the modern supercars.

The Lykan Hypersport is powered by a mid-rear 3.7Lt flat-six twin turbo with individual coolers, fully crystallized stainless steel exhaust system with active bypass valves engine with a 6-speed sequential or 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission that produces a staggering 740BHP and 960NM OF TORQUE!!! With that much power output it can reach 0-100kmph (0-62mph) in 2.8 seconds, 0-200kmph (0-125 mph) in 9.4 seconds and has a top speed of 385kmph (239 mph)! Making it one of the fastest cars in the world. With high speed must come with good braking. The Hypersport has 6 piston aluminum mono-bloc calipers ventilated, cross drilled ceramic composite discs with an anti-lock system, ABS and Traction control (TC).
The car is worth 3.4 million dollars making it the 3rd most expensive cars in the world. For the quality of the interiors and the other features available, I think it is worth spending that much on this car.
        

The body not only has style and aggression but it also has meaning. W Motors plans on selling only 7 models of the Hypersport. In Arabic the letter V represents the number 7. This is indicated almost everywhere on the car, like the headlights, the engine cover and the rims just to name a few. To me I find that very unique and interesting because people who only know Arabic will understand but others will appreciate it for its design. The other thing that I find amazing is that the company embeds a small plate on the engine cover that has the date the consumer receives it and the model number, i.e. out of the 7 models they number each and every model they make therefore giving the consumer a personal and unique experience.

One of the main reasons why this car is very expensive and different is because of the headlights. This car is the first car in the world to have headlights with embed jewels!!! The headlights consist of a titanium LED strip with 420 diamonds 15 carats each!! The best part is that the consumer gets to choose from rubies, diamonds, yellow diamonds, and sapphires to be integrated into the vehicle's headlights at purchase. The consumer can make his choice based on the color of his/her car.

The seats are one of the most modern seats that's is designed for ultimate comfort and safety.It is designed in such a way the that the drivers' body and neck is stable during high speeds. It has a carbon fiber base and is wrapped with quality leather that is stitched together with GOLD FIBERS!!!

The interiors are one of the most futuristic looks and features you can have in any supercar.

Looking at all these features, the design and the technology I find the Lykan Hypersport to be one of the most exquisite supercars ever made and is surely worth the price.

LaFerrari, McLaren P1 or the Porsche 918?



There has been alot of debating happening between the recent hypercars that have been launched. There are people who haven't made up their minds and some that have, well i'm going to help the people who cant decide and i'm going to give my own opinion as well.

Lets start with the looks.

I think the LaFerrari looks way more cooler and aggressive than the others because of the structure of the tail lights and the body lines are sharp but the looks of the rear don't match the front, The McLaren P1 looks comparatively less aggressive than the LaFerrari but is more aggressive than the 918. It looks very futuristic,very small and it has looks which isn't very common in cars.The 918 looks very delicate and not that great, but if you closely look at it, you will like as it has the rear wing up, exhausts on the rear deck.

Now lets see the engine and the performance

The LaFerrari has a 6.3 Lt V12 which produces a total power of 963 HP and 900 Nm of torque and it sounds incredible, The McLaren P1 has a 3.8 Lt V8 and produces a total power of 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque and the effect of the sound is heard from the inside, the Porsche 918 has a 4.6 Lt V8 which produces a total power of 887 HP and 1275 Nm of torque, since the exhaust is right behind your head, you can get the blasting sound right behind you and it sound amazing . The LaFerrari always runs on both the V12 and the electric motor so you cant switch to E- mode while driving, whereas that option is available in the McLaren P1 which is actually an advantage because if you are low on fuel you can run on the batteries which is smart but the car is not mean to really run on the batteries just like the LaFerrari, but in the 918 you are running mostly on the batteries and the combustion engine kicks in when you need extra power while driving and has more torque than the other 2.

Now lets see the features

The LaFerrari is very aerodynamic and looks very aggressive. The seats are bolted to the floor so your sitting very low and the rear spoiler comes out of a slit from the back which is good because when you are driving the roof line is low so you get a good feel when you are driving.The McLaren P1 has bucket seats which are comfortable for a long time and get different sizes. The 918 the seats are also fixed but later gets a bit uncomfortable after sometime but the steering wheel feel is nice. The wing in the McLaren P1 is amazing as it just comes out and is raised to a height of 30 cm which will give it alot of down force in sports mode and it pushes the car 5 cm down because of the downforce. The LaFerrari the wing comes out of a slit in the back to give a similar downforce effect. The 918 normally comes up right above the tail lights giving it that good look. The wheels in the McLaren P1 are nice and has a good look in many 12 spoked rims, The LaFerrari has old school looking wheels and is very traditional but the 918 have nice multi spoke wheels which looks good on the car.

My decision

The LaFerrari since the seats are very low it gives you that feel and the enjoyment you get because of that would be a very good experience. The McLaren P1 is used for sport and speed. Its like a transformer you can change it from an everyday car to an incredibly low sports car which I think is amazing in a car. The 918 is a convertible and you can put the roof panels in the bonnet when you don't require them.

performance? well the LaFerrari has a top speed of 230 mph, the P1 has a top speed of 217 mph and the 918 has a top speed of  215 mph but if you drag with these 3 cars I think P1 will be ahead then the LaFerrari sightly behind and so is the 918. But you feel that 918 is faster because of the noise behind your head.

So according to me if I would want to have fun on the track I would definitely buy the McLaren P1, if  I would want to show off  in a party and have a car for long term I would buy the LaFerrari and if I would want to use it to go out for everyday use I would go for the 918 because of the E-mode. So final decision is I WISH I COULD HAVE ALL 3 PLEASE!!!!

Porsche 918

  

The Porsche 918 is a limited edition mid engine plug-in supercar designed by Porsche. The company planed to produce 918 units each costing $845,000. A plug-in hybrid car means that the engine utilizes rechargeable or any other storage device that can be restored by plugging it to an external power source. It is the second plug-in hybrid car from Porsche after the Panemerra S E-Hybrid. The car has a 4.6 Lt ,V 8 engine producing 608 HP and 528 Nm of torque. This is supplemented by 2 electric motors delivering an additional 279 HP, one producing 154 HP and the other one producing 125 HP and it also supplements an additional 747 Nm of torque. So in total, the produces 887 HP and 1275 Nm of torque.The batteries that run the motor are 312-cell liquid-cooled 6.8 Kw h lithium ion battery, it is charged by regenerative braking or when the car is coasting.One of the electric motors(154 HP) drives the rear wheels along with the internal combustion engine and the other motor (125 HP) drives the front axle, an electric clutch decouples the motor when not in use. The range of the batteries is 19 Km. The CO2 emissions produced by the car is 79 g/Km and the fuel consumption is 3.0 L/100 Km. It has a top speed of  340 Km/h. With a full tank and fully charged batteries the car can go a distance of 680 Km.

What I think of the physical part is the it is very aerodynamic, stylish and has a resemblance to its predecessors but with a more modern look. My favorite part of the looks is its tail lights. It has a carbon fiber reinforced plastic monocoque for giving strength to the support.

What I think of the engine is that it is Eco friendly as the petrol engine is very fuel efficient and the CO2 emission is very low which is good for the environment. You can switch it to E mode to just run on the electric motor and it gives a range of 29 Km. With that much torque it can go from 0-100 Km/h in 2.6 seconds, 0-200 Km/h in 7.2 seconds and from 0-300 Km/h in 19.9 seconds. It has more torque than A LYKAN HYPERSPORT.

LaFerrari

  

The LaFerrari (also called F150) is a limited production hypercar built by Ferrari.Only 499 units will be sold each costing $1.69 million.The cars total weight is about a 1000 Kg's which is about the same weight as the Sesto Elemento. This is Ferrari's first 'Mild Hybrid' car. A mild hybrid engine is different from a full hybrid engine. A mid hybrid engine is an internal combustion engine that is equipped with an electric motor allowing the engine to switch off when it is coasting or stopped yet restart quickly again, and they give some amount of power assist to the the internal combustion engine. Coasting is when the drive is disconnected from the wheels. The drive the power produced by the engine to turn the wheels. This happens due to the gear box being in neutral or when the clutch pedal is depressed. This engine has decreased the fuel consumption of the car by 40%. In the rear part lies the engine. The engine is 6.3 Lt, V12 with an angle configuration of 65 degrees produces 789 HP and 700 Nm of torque and the electric motor produces 174 HP and and 200 Nm of torque so the total output produced by the engine is 963 HP and 900 Nm of torque. It is connected to a 7 speed dual-clutch transmission and is an rear wheel drive. It has a CO2 output of 330 g/km. It has may electronic controls including stability, traction control and ABS in high speeds,and it also has a carbon fiber monocoque  for strong support and stability for the structure.

What I think of the physical part is that I feel it is one of the most aerodynamic and aggressive looking cars Ferrari has ever made. It is my favorite Ferrari after the F12 berlinetta. It has an aerodynamic resistance less than 3. It is designed in such a way so that there is equal weight distribution, low resistance and to lower the car's center of gravity.

What I think of the engine is that it is so powerful. It has a top speed of 350 Km/h. With that much torque it can go from 0-100 Km/h in under 3 seconds, 0-200 Km/h in under 7 seconds and 0-300 Km/h in under 15 seconds. For resting the new cars Ferrari has their own race track called Fiorano circuit. It is 2.997 Km long and has 12 turns. The LaFerrari can cover the whole track under 1:20 which is the faster than any other road-legal car Ferrari has ever made.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

   

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is a 2 door, 2 seater lightweight limited edition super sports car. The name Sesto Elemento( sixth element) is reference to the atomic number of carbon as the whole car is covered with carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is an extremely strong and light fiber-reinforced polymer which contains fibers made of carbon, this material is used in monocoques for automobiles because this material has properties that are lighter and strong than steel, so it provides a good support and strength to the car's structure. This car has a 5.7 Lt, V10 engine producing at power of 570 HP with 540 Nm of torque, and it also has a 6 speed semi automatic transmission with paddle shifters and its an all wheel drive. Paddle shifters are located behind the steering wheel.This car shares almost the same engine as a Lamborghini Gallardo. Since the car is completely made of carbon fiber, it makes the overall weight of the car a stunning 999 kgs. This is the lightest car that Lamborghini has ever made.


What I think of the physical looks is that its very aerodynamic and looks very different from the other Lambo cars. The part that I don't like about the looks is that since it's completely covered in carbon fiber, it looks plain and you can get it in only 2 colors and the ground clearance is about a centimeter from the ground so it can only be used on the track. I think that the body lines are aggressive making the car look very sinister and mean.  


What I like about the engine is that it is a beauty. It can go from 0-100 Km/h in 2.4 seconds which about the same time a Bugatti takes. The 10 distinctive hexagonal holes on the engine cover is used to release the air released from the engine. A semi automatic engine means that there is no clutch but the gear shifts can be done manually with the help of paddle shifters. It uses electronic sensors, pneumatics, processors and actuators to execute gearshifts given by the driver or by a computer. This eliminates the use a clutch pedal which the driver would have to press before making the shift. This engine was made to make gear shifting much easier and overtaking on the highways much faster.

McLaren P1

  

The McLaren P1 is a limited production plug-in  hybrid supercar made by McLaren. It is a successor of the McLaren F1 and it utilizes hybrid power and formula 1 technology. It features a 3.8 Lt twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that is similar to the MP4-12C . The petrol engine produces 727 bhp and 719 Nm of torque. Since its a hybrid it will have an electric motor, the motor is 324-cell-lithium ion battery which can be charged to full capacity in 2 hours, it produces 176 bhp(131 Kw) and 260 Nm of torque. So if you combine this, the McLaren P1 will have a total output of 903 bhp and 978 Nm of torque.The car is a seven -speed dual clutch transmission and has a rear wheel drive. The battery has a range of 10 Km.

What I think of the Physical looks is it is very aerodynamic and very stylish. The headlights look very different compared to its predecessors as it resembles the McLaren logo. The kerb weight is 1,490 kg. What I love about the tail lights is the thin LED strip which makes it look different and very stylish.

What I think of the Engine is that it is very powerful because of the combination of the petrol engine and the electric motor. With that much torque it can go from 0-100 Km  in 2.8 seconds, 0-200 Km in 6.8 seconds and 0-300 Km in 16.5 seconds making it 5.5 seconds faster than than the McLaren F1. It completes a quarter mile in 9.8 seconds at 245 Km/h! and it takes 6.2 seconds to break from 299-0 Km/h during which it covers 246 meters.
